Jag är lite av allt och till stor del ingenting.
Scrap photos from earlier this week. I don't know if I like them or not.

Och jag lämnar inga fotspår ens i sand.
Photography by Tender Letters.
I'm sorry about the stalemate. It feels weird not to update twice a day, I almost always do, but I've been too busy photographing/working/partying this weekend to post anything worth posting. Today we're having a photo shoot though, and hopefully I'll have som photos to show you later today. I trust you're having an amazing weekend. ♥♥♥

Alice Alice Alice.
I'm lucky to have a very romantic boyfriend. Kristofer often suprise me with different things, from small thing like sending flowers on out half-year anniversary to searching through Stockholm's second-hand bookshops to find my three favorite childhood novels with the specific cover art I loved as a kid (and which I had mentioned once during a nightly talk when neither of us could sleep). So when he says he has a surprise for me I'm always very excited but I never know what to expect. He's been going on all week about this special surprise for today, and I thought he was taking me out to lunch at some cosy/fancy restaurant. But the surprise was that we were going to see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland! So I've seen it now, on the press showing, an let me tell you IT'S AMAZING! It's just so funny that I got dressed in an Alice blue skirt with matching flowers this morning, it all just felt so weirdly perfect. And seriously, I was afraid I was gonna have too high expectations on this one, but the movie was just so friggin wonderful. I hope you all go and see it straight away. (Oh, who am I kidding, I know you will.)

Det var timmarna innan hon rest sin väg och jag druckit ännu mer.
It's funny how you change your wardrobe according to hair colour. When I was blonde I mostly wore black, white and different shades of blue and now all I wanna wear is powdery pastelles, lilac, petroleum blue and green. Or maybe I'm just dying for spring to friggin come already!

Glitterscenen.
Photography by Annie Leibovitz for Vogue US December 2009.
I'm guessing you've already seen this one, but it's one of my favorite editorials from 2009, just because it's so meticulously performed. I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga (even though I'm very impressed with her drive and ambition), but as you might know I'm kinda obsessed with Lily Cole. Also, I think, we are exposed to so much fashion and commercial photography every day that we become immune to the beauty of some of it (and the bland crap too, I guess). But editorials like this one stays with you, you know, long after you've seen it. That to me is great work.

Hon har ett sätt att le som bara jag förstår.
I just fell in love with my darling friend Cookie's Clara Bow-look last Saturday when she held a birthday bash for her boyfriend. So pretty!

I'm finally going back to Blowout to get my hair dyed and cut again! I think I'll go a little bit more red than last time even, I'm not sure yet. All I know is I'm not going short again for a long while. I really liked it and I think that short hair suits me better really, but I want looong red hair now. Fuck what looks good on you, feeling good is better, and I wanna feel like Jessica Rabbit!

Snälla herr fångvaktare, del 2.
Last Friday night we went to one of my all time favorite clubs in Stockholm, Rocket Room. It's a 50's rockabilly club with live music and extremely beautiful and well dressed people dancing the night away. Howlin' Pelle from the Hives was there to play and he sang my favorite song from the movie Crybaby, Please Mr Jailer. We danced so much that we forgot the time and was home way too late. A really wonderful night.

Puderrosa.
This last friday my BFF Sylvia and I went shopping at Beyond Retro and then for coffee. I didn't find anything (lie, I didn't dare look because my wallet said I wasn't allowed), but Sylvs found these two beauties. Aren't they lovely? I'm trying to brush up on my ability to take "moment shots", so right now I'm following my friends around even more than before, documenting them (no one's hit me over the head yet). Anyway, I was kinda happy with the first photo.

Döda min darling.
This is a photo I took at Fårö last weekend. Kristofer and I have been debating whether it's best in colour or in b/w. At first I thought it was really better in b/w, but then I realized that I kinda lose that amazing light in the background (which I gather is tiny snow flakes reflecting the light or something) in that one. So now we've both agreed on the colour one. Which one do you prefer?
I hope you've had a really awesome weekend by the way. ♥♥♥

I adore the simplicity in these photos, the light and the story. Just really nicely done.

För en sten känner ingen smärta. Och en ö gråter aldrig.
Photography by Paolo Roversi for Vogue Italia November 2007.
This inspires me so much! I especially love the one where she's sitting with her feet resting on a pile of books. So friggin perfect.

Då när försommarn kom över grå kapuschong.
When I was a kid we had a rule in our household: Emily may not go play outside in just a tee and shorts unless it's +10 degrees or more. Firstly because I've always been a summer child, refusing winter for as long as I can. And secondly, I wouldn't believe that sun+freshly sweapt streets+budding trees and bushes didn't equal spring. So after fighting and squirming and sneaking out when my parents weren't looking we had to create this rule so that I wouldn't get frost bite. I remember that the neighbourhood saying was that "when Emily is in a t-shirt, spring is right around the corner". Now mom can't chase me around the front lawn anymore, so today I'm wearing shorts even though it's 5 degrees below zero outside (with three pairs of pantyhose and biker boots and double cardis underneath my coat, mom!). Maybe spring will come now?

Och du har tagit mig från kylan in.
Two more photos from our Valentine's vac taken at one of the old military bases before we took the boat over from Gotland to Fårö. You can't really tell but there was such a hard wind I almost fell over several times while shooting these.

I'm home today writing an analytical essay about Swedish feminist literature in the late 19th century. So... here's a playlist for yall! I call it the Let's pretend it's summer and we're sitting on a roof in central Stockholm drinking wine in the afternoon sun Playlist. Hope you like it!
I hope you like it!

Ta inte min sång ifrån mig.

I fell in love with this photo, it made me think of Atonement (the book and the film are both so worth your time if you haven't seen/read it yet). Especially that hand pressed against her chest is marvellous. What do you think?

Parenteser.
+ The sound of wood crackling in the fire place.
+ Cinnamon tea with darling dear friends at Vetekatten.
+ Sitting next to this boy when he suddenly stops reading just to kiss my nose.
+ Eating raspberries before bed time and pretending it's summer.
These are a few of my favorite things (part two).

Film stills from Syfy's Alice.
I watched Syfy's remake of Alice in Wonderland a couple of days ago. I didn't like it at all, probably because I have a hard time understanding why anyone would ever want to make a contemporary version of Alice in Wonderland (which is the greatest childrens book ever written, you know). There's something about the concept of Alice in the future that I find really unsettling, as if the people who came up with the idea didn't really grasp the greatness of the story. Anyway, some of the "surroundings" in the TV-series did knock my socks off. It's so pretty! I can't help but dream of all the lovely editorials I could shoot there. Too bad it's all fake. *living in a dream world* Oh, and isn't the Cheshire Cat adorably creepy?
