Det som händer i New York stannar i New York.

This morning we tried to sleep in, to get rid of the jet lag, and it seems like it worked. At 8 am we got dressed and walked towards the Park.


At Union Square Park we bought some coffee and watched people walking their cute/scary dogs.


And people feeding the cute/scary squirrels.


As we walked on we passed a perfumes store that sold this - The Original Scarface Eau de Toilette. We loved it!




We walked passed the Park and sat down to have some breakfast at a little diner on 77th St.


I had the Belgian waffles with bacon and maple syrup. Very yum!


Afterwards we were high on sugar and decided to walk the excess energy off in the Park.

Then we walked back down Avenue of the Americas and passed the new Magnolia Bakery. We went inside and bought some Red Velvet Chocolate Crumb cake and Vanilla Bean cheesecake. I wanted to cry because everything was so pretty and delicious-looking at the same time.




At Strand's Bookstore I browsed the photography section and got stuck reading a really wonderful edition of Wizard of Oz. But then we had to hurry to meet up with a friend...


...at Gitane's where the girls wear these pretty green dresses and the boys all wear blue worker's shirts. We had some beer and met up with:


Markus!


Together we walked over to a little place around the corner and had some coffee.


And then I took Kristofer to Lombardi's, the best pizza place I've ever been to. Kristofer soon agreed with me that it was the most delicious pizza he'd ever had.


When we got back outside the rain was pouring down.


Luckily we had just bought an umbrella before we ate, and Kristofer posed with it (channeling Totoro) infront of our village psychic.


When finally got home we were soaked through, even though we had only been walking a couple of blocks. Now we're getting ready to go to a club, but I'll tell you that story tomorrow.

Lafayette.

I'm here! I made it! :)


The first thing we did after arriving at the hotel, which is in the East Village, was to walk down to the closest restaurant in Soho.


We ate really good burgers and drank loads of beer.


And then we walked over to this little place on the corner of Bowery and West Houston St to have some more beer and try to shake of the jet lag.


I love just watching all these beautiful or interesting or crazy people walk by, it's so inspiring.


Not to mention the houses of course. I was hit by some serious nostalgia walking down Lafayette St, this really is my favorite place on earth.


After a couple of beers we crossed the street to Whole Foods and bought cookie dough, chips and fresh fruit. Now we're back at the hotel watching the Simpsons and trying to stay awake for two more hours (we've been up for about 19) before going to bed. I'm sorry if this is the lamest blog entry ever, but my brain is all backwards right now. Tomorrow will be so much better. See y'all then!

The best feature in this editorial, to me, is the hair. I adore all kinds of cotton candy hair, and I kinda miss being able to do that to my hair (white hair spray looks really awful on red hair). Also, I think the androgynous qualities are really nicely done here. Plus, Mona Johannesson is beautiful.

Att sova; att få drömma.

Today has been such a wonderful day of drifting about, walking around our island and then settling down for a picnic in the sun. Now we're gonna start packing, and plan the trip a little bit. *excited* This whole weekend has been great, I've felt so calm and carefree. Partly because I'm finished with school for the summer (still waiting for the grade on my graduate paper though), but also because we're looking for a new aparment, which feels so good. And I'm very content with my latest commission. And I'm very very much in love. I think this is going to be a really awesome summer.

I mitt fönster.

One of the best things about this time of year is that the lilacs are blooming. I bought some yesterday and then picked some more today and now the whole apartment smell of them! The second best thing is that you can buy cherries and strawberries in the supermarket. I pretty much live on them, even though I realized recently that they never taste as sweet as I remember from when I was a child. Sad but true.

Today's been a great day, Kristofer took me to see Hamlet (I'm a big Shakespeare nerd) and it was really good. I've seen so many different interpretations of this play, but this production was very contemporary and still timeless. Plus, the stage design was amazing, I wish I could've shown you guys!

Other than that, all I can think about right now is New York: what I'm gonna do, what I want to see and the (al)most important thing - what I'm gonna eat. I keep dreaming of pizza at Lomabardi's, cookie dough, cupcakes and oh... If anyone has any good tips on shopping/food/clubs that I shouldn't miss, please do tell!
